Slow, Really Slow...

A young man was a slow worker and found it difficult to hold down a job. After a visit to the employment office, he was offered work at the local zoo. When he arrived for his first day, the keeper, aware of his reputation, told him to take care of the tortoise section.

Later, the keeper dropped by to see how the young man was doing and found him standing by an empty enclosure with the gate open.

"Where are the tortoises?" he asked.

"I can't believe it," said the new employee, "I just opened the door and whooooosh, they were gone!"

2 mins with Firefox 1.5

These few days, everyone been so excited about the new release of firefox 1.5 version. Everywhere you go, they're talking about it, posting about it.
So I thought what the heck and tried testing it out though I'm very satisfy with my current version 1.0.7.
The result was not at all satisfactory. After installation of the new version, it broke most of my extensions from version 1.0.7.

My four most favorite extensions : ScreenGrab, JustBlogIt, delicious and most widely used LoremIpsum been disabled due to incompatibility with the new firefox 1.5.
I was like, damn that's no good!, and within 2 min of testing, I reinstalled my old version 1.0.7.

Gladly enough all my extensions back to normal.

Ok, so remind me again what's so different/good about this new 1.5 version from 1.0.7??
People talk about how fast the new one is but for me it totally slow down my net. Plus it take hell lotta time to start up.
I think I'll just stick to version 1.0.7 cos' I'm so use to it. I won't try switch again until and unless someone show/tell me with the proper evident that the version 1.5 is superior over 1.0.7.

Candy Wrappers Handbags

Ahhh check these out. Made of candy wrappers? Sweet!
Very expensive though. I thought those are recycle items and why more expensive than the normal handbags?
A few designs are cute.

Ecoist handbags are made from recycled candy wrappers, food packages, and soda labels. They are 100% handmade, woven, and sewn to maintain durability for every day use. They are not coated with any toxic or non-toxic coating, yet, they they are perfectly waterproof.

hand bag1   hand bag2  hand bag3

I like those 3, #1 is too cute for Coin Pouche but it's small, not that useful, #2 is the best, perfect size. #3 is great for shopping.

Pretty cool hah? I like it.

Eye Movements

eye movementsI first heard of eyes movement detections in one of CSI TV shows where the detactive determined the killer cos' of his eyes looking top-left side.
In there the detactive mentioned that when you answer the question looking to the right then you're telling the truth and if looking left then something fishy going on.
And I was like, "awww" "auu" "eee" "arrrh" , I mean I was impressed. :P

Now I came across this post with proper explanation on the eye movements and thought of posting here.

Interesting notes and explains 6 eye positionings.

  • Up and to the Left Indicates: Visually Constructed Images (Vc)
  • Up and to the Right Indicates: Visually Remembered Images (Vr)
  • To the Left Indicates: Auditory Constructed (Ac)
  • To the Right Indicates: Auditory Remembered (Ar)
  • Down and to the Left Indicates: Feeling / Kinesthetic (F)
  • Down and To the Right Indicates: Internal Dialog (Ai)

Now I'm curious, how about talking with straight eyes/closing/flicking eyes behaviours?
What would you make of those?

"Yes? No? May Be? I don't know?"
"Can you repeat the question?"

Where's the Wife?

A man left work Friday afternoon, but, instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend, hunting with the boys and spending his paycheck without telling his wife.

When he appeared at home, Sunday night, he was confronted by his very angry spouse, who barraged him for two hours with a tirade of yelling.

Finally, she stopped the nagging and simply said to him, "How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?"

To which he replied, "That would be fine with me."

So, Monday went by and he didn't see his wife.

Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results.

On Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye.

Receiving E-mail

As you are receiving e-mail, it's wise to remember how easily this wonderful technology can be misused, sometimes unintentionally and with serious consequences.

Consider the case of the Michigan man who left the snow-filled streets of Detroit for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick e-mail.

Unable to find the scrap of paper on which he had written her e-mail address, he did his best to type it in from memory. Unfortunately, he missed one letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher's wife, whose husband had passed away only the day before. When the grieving widow checked her e-mail, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint. Hearing the scream, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:

"Dearest Wife,

Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.

P.S. Sure is hot down here!"

PHP Fatal Error

You might notice that my "" is down with some strange php fatal error.

Check this string in google and you'll find whole lot of wordpress blogs down with the same or similar errors. Thank god I'm not alone.

Only variables can be passed by reference in /wp-includes/gettext.php

Something about new version of PHP 5.0.5 and wordpress language(localization) folder problem...

I don't care what it is, I just can't fix it yet cos' my damn host ftp is down.
Life sux!

Turkey Cake

Man, can you guess what the hack is that if you don't read the title of the post?
This is the ugliest cake I've ever seen. Pretty scary too with those red M&Ms!
Kinda like some serious boils. I just lost my appetite.
What have they done to my favorite CHOCALATE CAKE!!

Turkey Cake

"place the circle on top of the bottom layer in the middle, the head on top, and the feet below the circle, as pictured. Ice as usual. Use the candy corn for the beak and feathers, red M&M's for the head and yellow and orange M&M's for the rest, and voila! You've got a great dessert to bring to your Thanksgiving feast that the kids will love."

The original recipe from "Betty Crocker", the original cake looks 80% alike turkey.
I think the damage is done by over decoration.
One M&M for the eye would be great but this is just too much!
I just hope the turkey is not having a bird flu!

How to Read 12 Digit UPC Barcodes

Today's eHow article tells you how to read barcodes.
It's pretty impressive if you have good eyesight and good with digits.
For me, I have very bad eye sight so, no can do.

barcode reading

Most barcodes in the US are 12-digit UPC barcodes, with ten digits at the bottom of the code and one small number to each side. Impress your friends by asking them to select a random item from the kitchen with a removable label and cut the numbers off of the UPC barcode; you can then proceed to read the numbers encoded in the lines.

Very cool illusion

Check this one out. Very cool indeed.

"If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink. If you stare at the black in the center, the moving dot turns to green. Now, concentrate on the black in the center of the picture. After a short period of time, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see a green dot rotating if you're lucky! It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see."

Exercise Techniques

Physical exercise is good for you. We know that we should do it daily, but our bodies don't want us to do too much, so here's a program of strenuous activities that do not require physical exercise.

whew! That's a workout! Now sit down and
  • Exercise caution.

A Noise...

My wife has not spoken to me in three days. I think it has something to do with what happened on Sunday night when she thought she heard a noise downstairs.

She nudged me and whispered, "Wake up, wake up!"

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"There are burglars in the kitchen. I think they're eating the tuna casserole I made tonight."

"That'll teach them!" I replied.

A Tough Task

A man was walking along the beach when he found an old bottle buried in the sand. He picked it up and cleaned it with his sleeve. Whereupon a genie appeared and offered him one wish.

"Well my family lives in Australia. It would be great if there was a bridge between here and Australia so I could drive and visit them."

"What!" cried the genie. "Have you any idea what building such a bridge would involve? The gigantic pillars all the way to the sea bed? The hundreds of gas stations to be supplied? The chaos to the shipping lanes? Are you sure there isn't anything else you'd like?"

The man thought for a moment. "Y'know, I've never had much luck in my relationships. Could you give me a complete understanding of women?"

The genie replied "Was it four lanes you wanted or six?"

GOOGLE Failure or a USA Faliure

A friend of mine forwarded me this. :P

Something really really interesting to share with you all. Try out the following steps and see what happens...! You will have to ask one question. Whether its a GOOGLE Failure or a USA Failure?

1. Go to 2. Type "failure" (without double quotes) in the search text box. 3. Press "I'm Feeling Lucky" button just next to "Google Search" button. 4. See what happens. Find it out yourself and laugh a lot. 5. Share it with your friends and relatives before GOOGLE fixes this bug. 7. Enjoy.....

Interesting hah? :D

Roasted Baby Carrots

roasted baby carrotHonestly I never try anything fancy with carrots except the same old fruit salad or fry with some veges.
So I didn't know we can roast a carrots until now.

"My friend Suzanne clued me into a great way to do up carrots. She uses the 'Nantes' French carrots from Trader Joe's or the bunched baby carrots at Whole Foods. Note that the 'baby' carrots are not those 1 inch carrots that one gets in a big bag to serve as snacks for kids. By baby carrots we mean the carrots that are 4 to 5 inches long, usually they come with the greens still on."

How do u post to your blog?

I'm curious how you guys post to your blog. I mean since we got flock and stuffs, do you guys still use blogger interface to post or??

For me I never (99%) use blogger interface. It's just too slow loading with my snail connection speed and also I don't like the WYSIWYG editor from there.

I prefer writing my own html code and the blogger interface is not good with raw code. Yes it does give you the option of switching from html to WYSIWYG view but once you type in html view and switch back to WYSIWYG, some of your codes get mess up and changes around. Also it breaks the lines breaks and I don't know it never turns out the way I want it to be so I hate it alot.

I also hardly use flock. Flock is just silly extra stuffs that I never need in the first place. I just tested how posting down in flock but almost same same as blogger interface so I ignored that too.

My favorite is this little firefox extension call "JustBlogIt". It has the options for most of the blog services like:

  • Blogger
  • Drupal
  • LiveJournal
  • Moveable Type
  • Radio Userland
  • Text Pattern
  • Type Pad
  • My fav WordPress
  • and even custom setting blogs

How sweet is that hah? :P If you set it up to blogger then it has an option to choose which blogspot blog you wanna post.
Also if you want to post some of the site content you browsing then you just highlight the content and right click > JustBlogIt...Voila! it's up in the box and ready to publish.
It handle the html raw code very well too. I always type with the code to keep it valid html although this blog is not valid html. I just making sure if in the future I decided to merge with one of my other valid html blogs then this shouldnt mess up other site code. yah this is how I post to my blogspot blog. For my wordpress blog I dont use "JustBlogIt" extension cos' I like wordpress interface.

How about u guys? Have you guys use some kind of firefox extension or flock or just same old blogger interface?

Blogger Comment Moderation

Blogger has added the comment moderation function in their interface.

"We've just introduced a frequently-asked for feature, comment moderation. By using this feature, you can approve or reject what would-be commenters are looking to post before it goes live on your blog." Via: Blog Buzz

One good thing about is, it can be done through blogger setting interface or from your very own email.
I think I prefer using email setting rather than login to blogger interface because it always take hell lotta time loading the site.

This entire process can also be done via email. If you entered an email address for moderation, you will get a message for each comment which will contain "Publish" and "Reject" links, as well as a link to the main moderation page for the blog.

More info on how to set up the comment moderation system in your blogspot blogs, check this help article on "How do I moderate comments on my blog".

Gorillaz Toys

Can you believe these ugly toys are that expensive and some people are actually buying them?

Gorillaz Toys

I like some of their music but the those toys are just too ugly for my liking.
If you feel like you must have one of those then "Kid Robot" selling them.

A conductor was having a lot of trouble with a drummer. He constantly gave this guy personal attention and much advice, but his performance simply didn't improve. Finally, before the whole orchestra, he took a critical jab at the drummer,

"When a musician just can't handle his instrument and doesn't improve when given help, they take away the instrument, give him two sticks, and make him a drummer -- which must be why you play the drums."

A stage whisper was heard from the percussion section,

"And if he can't handle even that, they take away one of his sticks and make him a conductor."
